Today we will explore two of the most beautiful highlights near Bishkek — the impressive Kok-Moinok Canyon and the legendary Issyk-Kul Lake. Our journey takes us through scenic landscapes to the red-rock formations of the canyon, where we will enjoy a short walk and panoramic views. Afterwards, we continue to Issyk-Kul, the second-largest alpine lake in the world, where you will experience the peaceful atmosphere of the lakeshore and visit the Rukh Ordo cultural complex. Depending on the season and weather conditions, you may also have the opportunity to join a boat ride on the lake.
Trip Outline
Bishkek-Kok Moinok- Issyk-Kul
We start the tour between 08:00–09:00 with pick-up from your hotel in Bishkek. Then drive east for about two hours toward the impressive Kok-Moinok Canyon, enjoying scenic countryside views along the way. At the canyon, we take a short walk through its striking red-rock formations and enjoy panoramic viewpoints. The unique landscape and peaceful atmosphere make it a great spot for photos. Afterwards, we continue to Issyk-Kul Lake, the secondlargest alpine lake in the world. On the way, we stop at a local café for lunch. Upon arrival, we visit the Rukh Ordo cultural complex located on the lakeshore, where you can learn about the country’s history and traditions. You may also join a group boat ride on the lake (available daily in summer; in winter subject to weather conditions). In the late afternoon, we return to Bishkek and drop you off at your hotel.
